A Lighthouse

Have you seen the boy of rockridge island?, the boy who lives at the jagged edge of land far about in the boiling tar lakes. Whose house is pelted with flying stones.
He has built a new light house tall enough to be seen miles away. he built it slowly with the stones he found, and now he will install a light to see far past his current horizon. He built that tall house by himself, what a boy, they all said, the boy of rockridge island.

Vacation, All I ever wanted

Out in the woods a man had arrived.
He wore a dark cap to hold the sun out of his eyes.
He often kept his eyes on the ground at the numerous creatures crawling over and under the brush.
His ears soaked the sound of tiwtters and knocks ringing from thetrees, and his nose, absorbed the sweet sour scent of the pines.
He collected some of the pine needles and and put them in his shirt picket. He would make hot tea with them later on.

Not long ago, his feet had felt the rumble of large trucks and the light dribbles of medium sized sedans passing by a state highway.
Well, he thought, just another day at Mother Neff State Park. Peace and Solitude, pretty much everything I had asked for. It was good, he thought,
to finally get away.

On Ambition

It was a warm summer evening and they had all gathered in the house. A few of them had been drinking, and it was getting late. Roy was defeating all his opponents in a wild game of Monopoly.
"Noooooo," Sam roared "don't put a another hotel on boardwalk, you'll finish us all off, don't you have a heart?"
Roy smiled and placed his second hotel on Boardwalk Ave.
Sam's question however remained unanswered within him. Had he no heart?
Roy came to the conclusion that he had the unique facutly to turn his heart off quite easily for long durations of time, he wondered if this was a trait shared by other humans.
Sometimes it would turn off almost effortlessly, like these wonderful wonderful moments when he was the King of Atlantic City. In these moments he felt he could live his whole life without ever needing to use that silly muscle.

Wonders of the Deep Sea

it looks like i now live in a submarine, the windows are round.
I have a moustache now as a fisherman should.
I peer out into the depths and the blackness is frankly, frightening.
The fish here look more like awful ghosts and electric insects.
The temperature is awful freezing.
I brought little rufus,
Just wanted to say hello, we are 24 nautical miles from the marianis trench.
No sign of the lochness yet, but I'll keep you posted,
Send my love to Malchiorite, Hope you are keeping the demon twins out of trouble
I'll be home soon,
Balthazar.

We will carry this message for you Balthazaar, even though we both know that you will not be leaving anytime in the near or distant future,
Yours in the Darkness,
Marianas Trench

Me and Uncle at the Bazaar

"Uncle, I hate it when I feel slow, inadequate and like I'll never measure up, you know?"
"Ha ha ha ha ha." His uncle's laugh bellowed. An awful echoing sound.
If you are a failure in this life, there is nothing to worry," he said in his deep voic, "Come , get on the bus, We are going on a tour... of your 85 billion lives!"

Question

A boy like that found on rockridge island existed in history many ages ago. His name was Nachiketa. He had been offered the riches of the world, hundreds of years as the ever youthful king to a golden empire and/or anything his heart could desire. Nachiketa turned all these things down. He had a more pressing request. "Tell me, Mr. Death, what occurs after I die? Please tell me this, for it is all I want to know."

Sure I can get you a glass of water

30,000 years ago I was asked rather abruptly, to fetch a glass of water from a mountain geyser. When down by the water I met a woman. I somehow instantly forgot about getting the water. I had fallen in love. I settled down and married the woman, had children and led a reasonably long healthy life. After my death, I was asked if I had brought the glass, and why it had taken so long. I only then realized my mistake, gave a report of my actions and apologized. I have the oddest suspicion that a similar test has been occurring, but this time instead of just one lifetime I have forgotten for a period of 30,000 years. In the many chances I've had to remember, I've continued to forget. Even now, I know there was something I had to do, but I just can't recall what. To this day, when I am alone at a watering hole, I will look twice, not for whom I was to bring water, but for the woman.

La Amistad

When we opened the attic door, we found a small fuzzy bear and a girl. The girl was wearing an old light green dress. They had been playing and looked at us in surprise. There were tea cups on and small coffee table. The little bear had a model sailboat that I think he received as a gift.
I complemented him on his gift, and marveled at their tea set. I then apologized and left. I think it odd that I should never hear them, sometimes I forget they even exist.
